$50,000 Up For Grabs at Ohio Sprint Speedweek

(CAMARGO, IL) 3-13-07  Established in 1983, the original and longest running sprint Speedweek in the United States will celebrate it’s Silver Anniversary this season as twenty-five years of winged sprint car tradition has led up to what will be one of the biggest sprint car racing events of the 2007 season.   The Speedweek point fund has been increased from $10,000 to $15,000 thanks to the generosity of the University of Northwestern Ohio (UNOH) and their High Performance Motorsports program.  The O’Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions, along with the Speedweek track promoters and sponsors, are committed to making this year’s Ohio Sprint Speedweek one that fans will remember and talk about for years to come.

On top of the increased point fund, a $50,000 “Speedweek Challenge” cash bonus will be paid to any driver able to win 4 of the 7 Ohio Sprint Speedweek events.  Drivers must be pre-registered by May 15th and compete in every Speedweek event to be eligible for the bonus money and the points fund.  Winning 4 events will be no easy task considering the average car count in 2006 was 46 with the highest coming at Limaland where 60 cars signed in to compete.  2006 Ohio Sprint Speedweek stand-out Ricky Stenhouse Jr. still managed to visit victory lane 3 times in a week shortened by two rain outs, proving that the bonus money is not out of anyone’s reach.
