All Stars Set to Close Out Season
Thursday, 21 September 2006

CAMARGO, IL (9-20-06) – The All Star Circuit of Champions will wrap up the 2006 season with a trip to Kokomo Speedway on Sunday September 24th for the final co-sanctioned event of the year with the World of Outlaws.  The All Stars have not visited Kokomo since 1999 when Byron Reed was victorious on the central Indiana bullring.  The All Stars would like to thank the Outlaws for their participation in the Showdown Series this season and we look forward to working with them again at various events in 2007.

The All Stars will visit Eldora Speedway one last time in 2006 on Saturday September 30th for the season finale.  This race will determine the outcome of the season points - especially the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th spots.  Brock Mayes, Chad Blonde, and Paul May are separated by only a few points and any one of them could end up in the runner up spot to Greg Wilson.  Wilson, who has a comfortable lead going into the next two events, mathematically appears to be the 2006 All Star Champion barring any unforeseen circumstances that would prevent him from attending either race.

The All Stars would like to thank all the fans who came out to see us this season and we’d also like to thank all the drivers who have competed in our events.  The 2006 season saw many new and talented young drivers move up and into the national spotlight while racing with the All Stars.  Chad Blonde, Brandon Martin, and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. have all made a splash in the world of 410 sprint car racing this season.  Throw in the veterans Greg Wilson, Dale Blaney, Danny Smith, and Barry Ruble along with up and coming hot shoes Brock Mayes and Paul May and the future looks bright.  Plans are already being made to expand on that with a new schedule and a new crop of rookie contenders for the 2007 season.  Announcements will be made soon regarding some of the larger events on the 2007 schedule.  Stay tuned in the off season by visiting our web site for news and information.  We hope to see you all at the next two events.
