Saldana Captures Co-Sanction Cash
Monday, 05 June 2006

TERRE HAUTE, IN (6-4-06) – by Bryan Autullo – The All Stars had a “long way to go and a short time to get there” as the song goes from the 1977 Smokey and the Bandit movie soundtrack, but everyone made it from Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, PA to Terre Haute, IN just in time for the co-sanctioned event with the world of Outlaws.

Paul May, who lives in Terre Haute, was most likely the last to arrive as they hit a coyote somewhere in Western PA, tearing a fuel line off the team transporter and putting them several hours behind schedule to make repairs.  They made it to the track on time, but the coyote wasn’t so lucky.

The All Stars, having raced in Central PA on Saturday night, made the 680 mile overnight trip back West to Indiana and fatigue was setting in by race time.  They still managed to take on the World of Outlaws on the semi-banked ½ mile and put on a great show for the fans despite not being able to do proper maintenance on their cars after the long journey between the two facilities left them with little time to work or sleep.

Hodnett Handles All Star Invaders at Lincoln
Sunday, 04 June 2006

ABBOTTSTOWN, PA (6-3-06) – by Bryan Autullo – The All Star Circuit of Champions invaded Posse territory again this weekend to take on the ever so tough Central PA drivers at Williams Grove and Lincoln.  Mother Nature had other plans on Friday night as the event at Williams Grove was rained out and rescheduled for later this season.

Saturday’s weather was much more cooperative, and the All Stars pulled into Lincoln Speedway with their game faces on, ready to get some racing in with so many events rained out around the mid-west over the past month.

In the end it was Posse veteran Greg Hodnett who dominated the race, holding off Doug Esh in heavy lapped traffic to win his second race of the year.  Thirty-five 410 sprint cars signed into the pits to run for the increased purse brought by the traveling series and once again the Posse pocketed the All Star’s $5000 to win paycheck.

Dewease Dominates Bob Weikert Memorial
Sunday, 21 May 2006

PORT ROYAL, PA (5-20-06) – by Bryan Autullo – The All Star Circuit of Champions made their way East to Port Royal Speedway’s semi-banked ½ mile oval in Port Royal, PA.  Veteran PA Posse driver Lance Dewease dominated the race by leading all 30 laps at the track where he has won countless other A-main events over the years.  He showed tonight that his experience at this Central PA dirt plant was like money in the bank as he took home the $5000 prize money.  Mike Erdley was 2nd, Danny Smith came home 3rd, Keith Kauffman took 4th, and Greg Hodnett rounded out the Top 5.

Dewease took the initial green flag and rocketed into the lead followed by Rick Lafferty who was in a fierce battle for 2nd with Brook Weibly.  Danny Smith and Mike Erdley chased down the leaders as they battled for 4th place lap after lap.
