Concord, NC— May 23, 2008— Lance Dewease has spent 20 years perfecting his craft in Central PA as one of the Posse's finest and has ventured outside of PA state lines from time to time with some success. After winning over 200 races and several track championships in "Posse Country", he took his show on the road in 2008 traveling full time with the O'Reilly All Stars while still running as many races around his home state as he can squeeze in.
Dewease took the opportunity this weekend to travel to Charlotte, NC for the Rite Aid Outlaw Showdown at The Dirt Track @ Lowe’s Motor Speedway. He made the most of his trip south, as he led all 30 laps of the contest to earn his fifth career Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series A-Feature win earning $12,000 live on SPEED Channel in front of a national audience and a sell-out crowd at the track.
“People say that we can’t win away from Pennsylvania,” he noted. “We race a lot there, and this is really the first year that we have done a lot of traveling. We are going to do a ton of traveling this year and we're running full time with the All Stars this year. I am looking forward to the rest of this year."
The win was his first with the World of Outlaws away from Williams Grove Speedway, where he has four wins vs. the Outlaws when they have invaded his back yard track.
“Any win against the Outlaws is real special,” said Dewease. “To win on television definitely means a lot and it’s pretty special for all of the people involved that sponsored this event and who sponsor our team. I love sprint car racing and it’s all I ever want to do. We are looking forward to the rest of the year.”
The raced featured five yellow flags and a late red flag, which gave Dewease open race track to work with. He used several strong restarts to quickly pull away from the field.
“I needed the cautions,” explained Dewease. “We got real loose after about 10 or 15 laps. On restarts I felt pretty good and was able to cool the tires down under the cautions. I thought we would be ok on restarts. I wasn’t sure about long runs, because lapped cars were starting to give me a fit.”
“We made a couple minor chassis adjustments (during the red flag), but nothing major,” stated Dewease. “We just wanted to get a good clean start. The goal was to get through one and two without getting messed up and getting down the back stretch. Jason (Meyers) has been fast all year and I figured as long as I didn’t mess up, it would take an awfully good car to beat me.”
Dewease will make the 10 hour trek from Charlotte to Fremont Speedway in Fremont, OH to compete with the O'Reilly All Stars on Saturday May 24th. Visit www.allstarsprint.com for more information.

The All Stars are one of the premier sprint car sanctioning bodies in the USA. It is owned by Illinois businessman, and now in their 30th year of operation, the All Stars take pride in their reputation of providing highly competitive, fair, exciting racing for outlaw sprint cars with many different winners in a year. About 400 drivers participate in All Star races yearly in front of an average of 5,000 spectators per event.
