OReilly All Stars Open 2008 Season with New Voice
CAMARGO, IL (1-24-08) by Bryan Autullo – All Star PR Director

ImageThe O’Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions will open the 2008 racing season with a new voice behind the microphone for the live broadcasts.  Dave “DC Bash” Campbell will bring the BAS Racing Network along for the entire All Star schedule in 2008.  DirTVision will once again carry the internet portion of the broadcast, but DC and his crew bring a new element to the 2008 coverage format – live terrestrial radio pumping through the airwaves of several affiliate FM radio stations across Ohio.

In addition to the live race call, the BAS Racing Network will take the broadcast to new heights with color commentary from various industry icons as well as live pit reporting throughout the evening.  DC has perfected his brand of live race coverage at Fremont Speedway and Attica Raceway Park over the past several seasons.  In addition, the BAS crew has covered NASCAR Craftsman Trucks, Hooters ProCup Series, USAC, and ARCA events at Toledo Speedway, Mansfield Motorsports Park, and various other tracks throughout Ohio, Indiana, and Pennsylvania.

The core FM stations that will carry the live radio coverage are WFRO 99.1 FM in Fremont, OH and WQIO 97.3 FM in Bellevue, OH.  The stations cover a triangular region between Toledo, Cleveland, and Columbus.  Other affiliate stations will be brought into the mix in the near future.  If you are not within the coverage area, you can tune your internet dial to www.dirtvision.com to listen to the live internet stream of the radio broadcast. The signal will be pumped through a dedicated ISDN line to the radio station and then processed through the internet feed, bringing a much more stable connection to the DirTVision servers.  This new technology push was in direct response to the number of tracks in 2007 that were unable to provide a dedicated phone line for the broadcast, resulting in many drop outs in coverage – or no coverage at all.  The BAS Racing Network engineers are working toward eliminating those issues in 2008.

In addition to his new role as the “Voice of the All Stars”, DC Bash is also the host of “The Buckeye Speedzone” radio talk show every Monday night at 7 pm on 99.1 FM and 97.3 FM with co-host Brian Liskai.  Liskai is the track announcer at Fremont and Attica.  The two cover local and national racing each week from the dirt tracks to the drag strips and beyond with many notable guests appearing each week.

“DC Bash and the BAS Racing Network bring elements to the broadcast that we’ve never had before,” said series president Guy Webb.  “The broadcast has been compared to MRN’s coverage of NASCAR events, which is the industry standard we would like to be able to match.  I’m looking forward to working with DC to get our message out and to build new relationships with sponsors who want to be a part of the broadcast.”

The O’Reilly All Stars will open the 2008 season at North Florida Speedway on February 1st & 2nd, then travel to Volusia Speedway Park on February 5th, 6th, and 7th.  For more info, visit www.allstarsprint.com
