Sammy Swindell Returns Home with the OReilly All Stars
ImageCAMARGO, IL (08-12-08 ) by Robert Cortum - O'Reilly All Star Public Relations

Sammy Swindell has won many races at many different facilities over the years, but only one of those facilities does Swindell call home.  This Friday and Saturday night, the O’Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions and the O’Reilly Midwest All Star Series is proud to welcome Swindell to the card as both series will do battle at Benton Race Park in Benton, Missouri and Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis, Arkansas.

First up for the 3-time World of Outlaw Champion is Benton Race Park in Benton, Missouri.  The facility has seen many improvements over the years since Swindell last visited while touring.  Of Benton Swindell noted, “We raced there a few times, I remember it being a tight facility that we were able to be competitive at.”  Swindell will be racing the weekend’s events in the Randy Dukes #56 machine.  Dukes is the promoter of the new and improved Benton Race Park.

Following Benton, Swindell will return to his “Home” track, Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis, Arkansas.  The facility is located less than 30 miles from Swindell’s home of Germantown, Tennessee.  Swindell got his illustrious career started at RIS and won many features and 3 track championships within 2 years, with an additional track championship at Greenville within that span.  Swindell has career wins in the Sprint Car, Modified, and Late Model divisions at RIS. “Riverside is defiantly my home track.  It’s been a long time since I have raced there, but I have been there helping other people and visiting,” added the 1983 Knoxville Nationals Champion.  “I feel like I have a good plan as to how I want to run the event, the biggest thing that has changed over the years is the cars, the track is similar to Chico (California) so we have a good game plan.”

It has been 15 years since Sammy has raced at the famed Riverside International Speedway.  2008 marks Swindell's 35th year of racing Sprint Cars and is a fan favorite everywhere he goes.  Sammy's return to O'Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions action looks to add additional drama to one of the country's hottest points battles between Dale Blaney and Lance Dewease for the O'Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions crown.
