In less than 48 hours it will be time to kick off one of the biggest and most anticipated events on the sprint car calendar for 2008.  The O’Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions visit west of the Missouri River, the Thunder Through the Plains, will kick off it’s first of 4 nights at the famed Belleville High Banks.

The Belleville High Banks is one of the best facilities in the country and has a rich history of midget racing, and features the National Midget Hall of Fame.  July 31^st , The high-horsed 410 sprint cars of the O’Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions will take their turn at one of the fastest and best prepared tracks in the country.

Speedway Motors has jumped on board for the 2008 annual event and has offered up added incentive for the drivers.  Speedway Motors is a proud supporter of the event as they will be on hand offering up a catered dinner for the teams, opportunities to win prizes and sales reps on hand to discuss the latest products and lend support.

Coupled with 4 races outside the “footprint” of the All Star Circuit of Champion stomping grounds and a tight points battle, the 2008 edition of the Thunder Through the Plains is sure to be a good one.  Currently Lance Dewease holds onto his point lead with Dale Blaney and Randy Hannagan giving everything they've got to tighten the points even more.

Additional drivers are expected to run with the series in 2008.  Top drivers from the Midwest, former World of Outlaw drivers, and the Superstars of America’s Series will compete for the $5,000 to win each of the 4 nights.
