Thunder Through the Plains Heats Up as Sponsors Add Incentives
ImageCAMARGO, IL (07-22-08 ) by Robert Cortum - O'Reilly All Star Public Relations

It’s become a tradition for many drivers as the O’Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions load up and bring the excitement of “America’s Series” to the Heartland of America.  2008’s edition of the Thunder Through the Plains will test the drivers abilities on some of the best facilities the Plains has to offer.

There has been a wide spread interest for many drivers from across the country to make the 4-night event.  The latest to jump on the list is former World of Outlaw Champion Danny “The Dude” Lasoski.  Lasoski joins a list that contains superstars Dale Blaney, Lance Dewease, Greg Wilson, Randy “The Hurricane” Hannagan, “The Steel City Outlaw” Tim Shaffer, and Tim Kaeding of California.

First up the series will take flight on the High Banks of Belleville Kansas’ high speed ring.  The track record at the wicked fast facility is a blazing 14.545 at the Belleville High Banks.  Drivers are looking to take on that record, re-write history, and start out an awesome weekend of racing.  The track is one of the most talked about venues in the world for its track design and its record speeds.

The traveling series will stay one more night in Kansas as they bring the Thunder to Thunderhill Speedway in Mayetta, Kansas on August 1st.  Thunderill Speedway’s 4/10-mile clay surface will offer up additional high speeds for the drivers as they take to the high banked turns.  Thunderhill is one of the best entertainment values for fans near the capital of Topeka on a weekly basis and is excited to offer the heart-pounding excitement of the O’Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions to their line-up.

August 2nd, the Thunder continues as it heads north to Eagle Raceway in Eagle, Nebraska.  Known as “America’s Home Track,” Eagle Raceway is a popular venue for many drivers to visit at least once in their careers.  Drivers will be looking to become the first to turn in a sub-11 second lap during qualifying.  Eagle boasts one of the most unique configurations in the country with its 1/3 mile high banked structures that keeps crew members guessing on set-ups.

Rounding out the Thunder through the Plains in 2008 will be a visit to Huset’s Speedway in Brandon, South Dakota.  One of the most popular venues for sprint car racing, Huset’s features a 3/8 mile high banked track that has a lot of local support pairing up with the traveling warriors.  Huset’s has long been known for their tough weekly competition and that competition will be prepared to defend the home dirt.

Racers competing in the O’Reilly All-Star Circuit of Champions annual Thunder Through the Plains series will have a chance to win prizes and product certificates by taking time trials on three of the four series races. They will get an extra entry if they run all four nights. Speedway Motors will also host a catered dinner for these race teams July 31 at the Belleville High Banks prior to the opening-night race.

In addition to the drawings, all drivers will be eligible to win the Speedway Motors Racing Optics Hard Charger Award, given each night to the racer who advances the most places in the A Feature. Winners will receive certificates for five sleeves of Racing Optics tearoffs.

All racers competing for Speedway Motors.com Open Wheel Week prizes must fill out a registration card and run a Speedway Motors decal on each side of their cars. Speedway Motors representatives will be in the pits at the Belleville High Banks on July 31 to distribute stickers and registration cards.
