OReilly All Star Circuit of Champions Set to Visit Central PA |
CAMARGO, IL (6-9-08) by Bryan Autullo, All Star PR Director
The O’Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions will return to Central PA again this week for a 3 day swing through Posse country to face some of the toughest local competition in the country. One of the toughest, Lance Dewease, is leading the All Star points chase and is looking to use his home turf to put some distance between him and the rest of the traveling group before heading into Ohio Speedweek at the end of June.
The first of the three stops will be at the world famous Williams Grove Speedway on Friday June 13th where the speeds are fast, the fans are frenzied, and the competition is fierce. Nowhere else in the country will you find the local drivers as loved and the invaders hated as much as at “The Grove” making it one of the tracks each season where a good finish is coveted by any outsider who visits there. Posse driver Mike Erdley picked up the All Star win in 2007.
On Saturday June 14th, the cars and stars will travel to Lincoln Speedway where the All Stars and Posse will do battle for round two of the weekend’s events. Fred Rahmer picked up the win the last time the All Stars visited the speedway, marking his 151st victory at the track and setting off a celebration of family, friends, and fans that was nothing short of spectacular.
The series will wrap things up with a stop at “The Big Track” on Sunday June 15th in Clearfield, PA. This will be the first visit to Central PA Speedway for the All Stars and hopefully several of the Central PA teams will follow and join in for a shot at the All Star loot. The event was originally scheduled for Wednesday, but it was moved to Sunday to help reduce travel expenses for the teams. |

Buckeye State Gears Up for Ohio Speedweek - The Countdown Begins |
CAMARGO, IL (6-4-08) by Bryan Autullo – All Star PR Director The 2008 UNOH Ohio Sprint Speedweek is fast approaching and later this month, winged 410 sprint cars will converge on the Buckeye State to extend a tradition that began in 1983. Ohio Speedweek has always been one of the premier weeks on the All Star schedule and is also one of the most prestigious weeks of sprint car racing in the United States. The event is rich in tradition and history and another chapter will be added starting on June 22nd at Attica Raceway Park. The deadline for pre-registration for points fund and bonus money has been extended through June 15th due to the lateness of the advertising for these events. Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, OH had announced early this season that they have closed for the season, and there was some indecision as to where the Monday night event would be held. Since that time an agreement has been reached with the facility to open the gates one more time this season to host the 2008 Ohio Speedweek event. Each year, nearly 100 drivers compete over the seven nights of dirt track mayhem with one driver emerging as the Ohio Speedweek Champion. The crews call it “hell week” and many rarely find time to sleep until the week is over. It is a grueling week for teams and drivers, but for the fans it is one of the best values in sprint car racing. With a shaky economy and high fuel prices, an effort was made to ease the travel distances between each event by not having to criss-crossing the state multiple times. For more information on Ohio Speedweek, please visit www.ohiospeedweek.com to view the schedule, driver pre-entry list, track contact information, and stats and stories. The All Star web site can be found at www.allstarsprint.com for more info on the series. |

Dewease Tops Outlaws at Lowe's Motor Speedway |
|
Concord, NC— May 23, 2008— Lance Dewease has spent 20 years perfecting his craft in Central PA as one of the Posse's finest and has ventured outside of PA state lines from time to time with some success. After winning over 200 races and several track championships in "Posse Country", he took his show on the road in 2008 traveling full time with the O'Reilly All Stars while still running as many races around his home state as he can squeeze in. Dewease took the opportunity this weekend to travel to Charlotte, NC for the Rite Aid Outlaw Showdown at The Dirt Track @ Lowe’s Motor Speedway. He made the most of his trip south, as he led all 30 laps of the contest to earn his fifth career Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series A-Feature win earning $12,000 live on SPEED Channel in front of a national audience and a sell-out crowd at the track. “People say that we can’t win away from Pennsylvania,” he noted. “We race a lot there, and this is really the first year that we have done a lot of traveling. We are going to do a ton of traveling this year and we're running full time with the All Stars this year. I am looking forward to the rest of this year." |
