O�Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions, Inc purchases IRS Late Model Series

The All Star Circuit of Champions, Inc has purchased the Independent Racing Series (IRS) Late Model Series and has began to put together the most affordable premiere Late Model series in the country, the O’Reilly All Star Late Model Series.  The O'Reilly Late Model Series is the newest series owned and operated under the banner of the “O’Reilly All Stars” which includes the O'Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions and the O'Reilly Midwest All Star Series.
 
The O’Reilly All Star Late Model Series will have approx. a 30 date schedule that will be focused in the Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Indiana, Michigan, Maryland, Kentucky and Illinois.  Eighty percent of the schedule will be within eight hours from Columbus, Ohio area featuring a base show of $5000.00 to win and $400.00 to start with many $7000.00 and $10,000.00 shows as well in the 2009 schedule.  The improvements will include a large point fund for the top 10 drivers and owners, appearance fees for the five chosen “All Stars,” and a race format that will entertain and excite the fans. The multi-state tour will feature some of the best drivers in the country going fender to fender at some of the best Late Model tracks in the country.
 
This is not the first time that there has been a companion Late Model series to the All Star Circuit of Champions.  From 1980 thru 1993 Late Models raced their own schedule as well as partnered with the Sprint Cars in several events.  Hall of Famer Charlie Swartz is at the top of the all-time wins list with 36 followed by Donnie Moran (26), and the final points champion Billy Moyer (15).

O�Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions Yield to Mother Nature

The opening night, Friday, September 12, of the Hoosier Fall Classic presented by Miamitown Auto Parts has been cancelled due to rain.  The Championship event for the O’Reilly All star Circuit of Champions will continue on Saturday, September 13 as scheduled at this point.
 
The season-long points battle will come down to a 1 race shoot out for Dale Blaney and Lance Dewease.  Blaney, who is looking to eclipse Joey Saldana on the all-time All Star win list, has taken the top spot 8 times in 2008 to match Saldana’s 67 career wins.  Both drivers are currently tied for 2nd all-time behind Kenny Jacobs.
 
Championship night is coming to the Lawrenceburg Speedway as the O’Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions and the O’Reilly Midwest All Star Series will battle it out for $10,000 at the Hoosier Fall Classic presented by Miamitown Auto Parts, Saturday, September 13.  All drivers will win a minimum of $150 show up money.

O�Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions Prepare for Final Run in 2008

The season has begun to wind down for the O’Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions and with just 3 events left; Dale Blaney currently has regained control of the top spot over Lance Dewease making for a dog-fight over the last 3 events.
 
First up for “America’s Series” will be Fremont Speedway in Fremont, Ohio on September 6th.  The last time the series was hosted by Fremont Speedway was during Ohio Speedweek; Dave Harrison took control of the event on his way to a $5,000 payday.
 
Over the years Fremont Speedway has built the reputation and the ability to claim to be “The Track that Action Built” due to its high speed configuration and wheel to wheel excitement.  The superstars of the O’Reilly All star Circuit of Champions will thrill the fans in a giant 50-lap Prelude to the Championship event.  Gates will open at 4:00 with the action beginning at 7:00.
 
From Fremont, the O’Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions will be joined by the O’Reilly Midwest All Star Series for the Miamitown Auto Parts Hoosier Fall Classic at Lawrenceburg Speedway, September 12th and 13th.  Lawrenceburg Speedway is located in Lawrenceburg, Indiana and will feature 2 nights of awesome racing on the newly configured track.
 
The winner’s share of the first night for the event will be $3,000, while the second night will feature a $10,000 check to the top spot.  Both nights the series will utilize the All Star Circuit of Champions tire rule which will allow drivers additional options for tire selection.  There will also be 2 dash events featuring the fastest of the O’Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions and the O’Reilly Midwest All Star Series.
 
For both nights of the Miamitown Auto Parts Hoosier Fall Classic an increase in the start money has been presented.  Drivers who attempt to take a green flag lap will garner at least $150.00 at night’s end.  With more money up for grabs, this is sure to be a hotly contested battle at the Legendary Lawrenceburg Speedway.

All Star Circuit of Champions to Visit Hilltop Speedway

For one last time in 2008, the O’Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions will visit the familiar confines of Hilltop Speedway in Millersburg , OH on Sunday, August 31st. The event will feature the continuation of the best point’s battle in the country as Dale Blaney and Lance Dewease continue to fight for the $50,000 check and champion bragging rights at the end of the year.

Series President, Guy Webb, has decided to make the show a benefit race for Jeff Shepard, who sustained serious injury at the 2008 Knoxville Nationals. Shepard has been near and dear to the hearts of many O’Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions fans as they have been thrilled over the years with his 39 career victories. “The Jet” is 10^th all-time in wins in a list of contains some of the greatest sprint car legends of all time.

For every ticket sold, $2.00 will be donated to Jeff Shepard’s recovery efforts. There are many other ideas being discussed right now for other methods of raising money, but fans can at anytime make a donation to Jeff’s recovery at the O’Reilly All Star t-shirt trailer at any event.

Earlier in the season, Randy Hannagan took home the checkers during Ohio Speedweek action. Hannagan proved he was fast all night by setting quick time during the event. “The Hurricane” would go on to winning his first Ohio Speedweek Championship riding the wave of that win and finishing consistent all week long.

Prior to the Hilltop event, the series will make a visit to Butler Battlegrounds this Saturday, August 23^rd . “America’s Best” will kick off the weekend leading up to Hilltop Speedway’s last visit in ’08 by visiting Lernerville Speedway on Friday, August 29^th and Attica Raceway Park on August 30^th .

Tickets for the Hilltop Speedway event will be $25.00 for general admission, $35.00 pitside. Gates will open at 4:00pm with the racing action starting at 7:30pm. Hilltop Speedway is a 1/3 mile high banked dirt oval located in Millersburg, OH. Support classes for the event will be Modifieds and Pure Stocks.
 
Sammy Swindell Returns �Home� with the O�Reilly All Stars

Sammy Swindell has won many races at many different facilities over the years, but only one of those facilities does Swindell call home.  This Friday and Saturday night, the O’Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions and the O’Reilly Midwest All Star Series is proud to welcome Swindell to the card as both series will do battle at Benton Race Park in Benton, Missouri and Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis, Arkansas.

First up for the 3-time World of Outlaw Champion is Benton Race Park in Benton, Missouri.  The facility has seen many improvements over the years since Swindell last visited while touring.  Of Benton Swindell noted, “We raced there a few times, I remember it being a tight facility that we were able to be competitive at.”  Swindell will be racing the weekend’s events in the Randy Dukes #56 machine.  Dukes is the promoter of the new and improved Benton Race Park.

Following Benton, Swindell will return to his “Home” track, Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis, Arkansas.  The facility is located less than 30 miles from Swindell’s home of Germantown, Tennessee.  Swindell got his illustrious career started at RIS and won many features and 3 track championships within 2 years, with an additional track championship at Greenville within that span.  Swindell has career wins in the Sprint Car, Modified, and Late Model divisions at RIS.

All Star Sprint Series

ImageThe All Stars are one of the premier sprint car sanctioning bodies in the USA. It is owned by Illinois businessman,  and now in their 30th year of operation, the All Stars take pride in their reputation of providing highly competitive, fair, exciting racing for outlaw sprint cars with many different winners in a year. About 400 drivers participate in All Star races yearly in front of an average of 5,000 spectators per event. Currently 40+ races are scheduled in numerous states, such as Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Michigan, Tennessee, Nebraska, West Virginia, and Kansas.
 

Ohio Sprint Speedweek

Image Ohio Sprint Speedweek proves to be one of the most competitive weeks in racing during the 2010 All Star season. Tough battles happened  in the 2010 Ohio Sprint Speedweek season, as it included nine straight nights of racing action in the buckeye state, it challenged the best of the best, but young David Gravel- DDR Motorsports was crowned the 2010 champion.
