OReilly All Star Circuit of Champions Gear up for Winter Nationals

Camargo, IL (1-4-09) by Kelly Brown – Public Relations Director –With the ball having dropped in New York City signifying the New Year, there is less than a month away from having the O’Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions drop the Green Flag on the 2009 season. For the 26th season the 410 winged sprint cars will begin the battle for the 2009 series crown with Florida Speedweek Winter Nationals, with six races in eight days.

Winter Nationals will kick off at Ocala Speedway for a three night event on January 29 (Thursday), 30 (Friday), and 31 (Saturday).  The last time the All Stars visited the 3/8 of a mile bullring was in 1994 when Kevin Huntley, Rocky Hodges, Joey Saldana and Lance Dewease all collected Checkered Flags.  In the ten events held at Ocala there has yet to be a repeat winner. Will one lucky driver be able to break the streak and make All Star History this season?

To see if any of the pilots will be up to the challenge race fans can call 352-622-9400 for tickets. Ticket prices are $25 each night for adults, $15 per night for children 12 and under, and $35 for pit passes. Gates will open to fans at 4:00 pm, with qualifying at 6:30 pm, and racing action begins at 8:00 pm each night.  For further information please visit www.ocalaspeedway.com.

The non-stop action will continue on to Volusia Speedway Park, the site of the first Winter Nationals race in 1983. The All Stars series will travel to Florida’s east coast for another three sensational night battle February 3 (Tuesday), 4 (Wednesday), and 5 (Thursday). Volusia Speedway Park is a staple of Speedweek hosting fifty two races in twenty five years of action.  Danny Lasoski has been unmatched in the event with 13 victories. Will he add more notches to his belt or will someone else be able to beat Lasoski to Victory Lane on the half-mile track?

To get in the middle of the racing action fans can call the track at 386-985-4402 for tickets. Reserved tickets are $29 each night and pit passes are $40. Ticket packages are also available at a discount rate through the track. Each evening racing is slated to begin at 7:00 pm. For further information please visit www.volusiaspeedwaypark.net.
