2011 Memberships Now Available! |

Camargo, IL (11-17-10) By Brian Liskai- The exciting 2011 season for the O'Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions Sprint Car Series will begin in less than three months and race teams are encouraged to obtain their memberships now. Memberships are $425 each. Membership privileges include the driver and team owner receiving free entry to all All Star sanctioned races; two additional crew members receive $25 pit passes to select races; member teams qualify for appearance/tow package, top 10 in points, $150,000 annually; and members teams qualify for point fund and contingency packages, $200,000 annually. Teams wishing to be on the All Star list for the season-opening events in Florida must pay their membership dues prior to Jan. 12. Checks or money orders made out to All Star Championship Racing, Inc. along with the accompanying form may be mailed to: All Star Championship Racing, Inc., P.O. Box 213, Clyde, Ohio 43410. Champions to be Honored at January Banquet |

Camargo, IL (October 31, 2010) - Jason Shank – All Star Championship Racing, Inc.
The O’Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions and O’Reilly All Star Late Model Series Champions and contingent will be honored at the All Star Championship Racing, Inc. Banquet to be held on Sunday, January 23, 2011 at the All Occasions Catering and Banquet Center in Waldo, OH.
Presentations will be made for the drivers who finished at the top of the series point standings for both ASCoC and the ASLMS. Headlining the event will be the crowning of the ASCoC Champion Tim Shaffer of Aliquippa, PA and the ASLMS Champion Rob Blair of Titusville, PA as well as the two series’ Rookie of the Year award winners. Cap Henry of Bellevue, OH claimed the ASCoC rookie award as John Garvin Jr. of Sarver, PA captured the ASLMS rookie award presented by JNJ Motorsports Media and Fleming Design Solutions. Shaffer won 16 times with the series to capture his second ASCoC title in as many years as well as the biggest event in sprint car racing, the 50th Annual Goodyear Knoxville Nationals that paid the ‘Steel City Outlaw’ $150,000. Blair won five of the first seven ASLMS events to catapult him into his second straight championship. Other drivers to be honored at the banquet will be Greg Wilson, David Gravel, Bill Rose, and Jared Ridge from the ASCoC and Jared Miley, Boom Briggs, Gregg Satterlee, and Greg Oakes representing the ASLMS.
The doors will open at noon for the commemorative occasion, with a luncheon at 1:00 pm, and awards will follow. A full luncheon will be served to those who will be attending. Tickets for the event will be $30 per person. Those interested in joining the All Star Circuit of Champions and the All Star Late Model Series for this elite event will need to download a reservation form on the All Star Circuit of Champions website and follow the directions on the form or call the All Star Circuit of Champions office at 217-766-7166. All Star Circuit of Champions Announce 2011 Winternationals |
Camargo, IL - (10-26-10) Although the curtain has barely closed on the 2010 season, plans are already underway for 2011 tour for the drivers of the O'Reilly Auto Parts All Star Circuit of Champions. The 2011 season for the traveling series will kick off in the month of February with a trip to the warm southeastern part of the United States for another All Star Circuit of Champions Winter Nationals.
For the first time in the history of the series, the drivers will take to the three-eighth mile Screven Motor Speedway in Sylvania, Ga. Tim Shaffer, of Aliquippa, Pa., will kick of his title defense at the red clay oval, which normally features full-fender racing from February to November. The first event of the 2011 southern swing is scheduled for Thursday night February 3rd. The feature on this night pays $10,000 to the winner. Then the All Star Circuit of Champions will return to Ocala Speedway in Ocala, Fl, on Feb. 4 and 5. It will mark the third straight year the All Stars will race at the three-eighths mile oval, which kicks off the 28th All Star Winternationals in the Sunshine State.
Who could forget last year’s exciting battle at Ocala! On the last lap, Cale Conley and Brad Sweet were battling for the win with Blaney, Shaffer and Danny “The Dude” Lasoski in tow. But, going into turn three on the final lap, Sweet made his move going high to try and pass Conley. However, the pair made contact, sending both tumbling and bringing out the red flag. During the green-white-checkered finish, Lasoski was able to hold off Shaffer and Blaney for the win with Pennsylvania Posse member Fred Rahmer fourth and California driver Tim Kaeding rounding out the top five.
Two years ago, Shaffer and Terry McCarl picked up the All Star wins at Ocala.
The unique D-shaped 3/8th mile track produces some exciting racing with its sweeping turns 1 and 2 leading to an almost continuous turn down the backstretch to a tight turns 3 and 4 and a very long, fast straightaway. This will mark the track’s 59th year of racing, making it the oldest track in the State of Florida. Friday night’s feature will pay $3,000 to win and Saturday night is a $5,000 to win race.

After a brief pause the drivers of the All Star Circuit of Champions return to action for their yearly stop at the Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Fl., as part of the 40th Annual DIRTcar Nationals. On Wednesday night action heats up with a $4,000 to win event and then one night later on February 10 the Sprint Car feature will pay $5,000.

The question on everyone’s mind will be can Tim Shaffer, who has scored the last two straight All Star series titles, continue his phenomenal run from 2010 which saw him win 16 All star features and sprint car racing’s biggest event, the Knoxville Nationals. Or, will two-time series champion Greg Wilson make a challenge? Can Connecticut hot shoe David Gravel and 2010 All Star Rookie of the Year Cap Henry lead a “young gun” challenge for the title? Will Dale Blaney make a run at the All Star $50,000 title?

All Star Circuit of Champions to wrap up 2010 season at Lawrenceburg |

CAMARGO, IL. (10-4-10) By Brian Liskai– The 2010 season has been one for the record books for the O’Reilly Auto Parts All Star Circuit of Champion Sprint Cars. It will come to an end with the traditional Hoosier Fall Classic on Saturday, Oct. 9 at the ultra-modern high banks of Lawrenceburg Speedway. Knoxville Nationals champion Tim Shaffer has already locked up his second straight All Star title and the $50,000 that goes with it. Shaffer has been the most dominant sprint car driver in the nation in 2010, having won 20 features including 15 All Star events and is coming off an impressive weekend with the World of Outlaws where he posted a second and a sixth place finish against the PA Posse at the National Open at Williams Grove Speedway. Two-time series champion Greg Wilson holds an 81-point margin for second in the series point standings over 18-year-old Connecticut driver David Gravel, who has had a break-out summer, not only claiming the Knoxville Nationals Rookie of the Year title but the tough Ohio Sprint Speedweek championship as well. Cap Henry, the 20-year-old Bellevue, Ohio native, has also had an impressive rookie season with the All Stars, wrapping up the $10,000 ROY title and currently sits fourth in the overall series points. Plainfield, Indiana’s Bill Rose has consistently finished in the top 10 throughout the summer with the All Stars, and sits fifth in the points while rookie Jared Ridge, from Snohomish, Wash., is solidly in sixth spot. Fairmont, Indiana’s Brandon Wimmer has piloted the Rick Ferkel machine into 7th in the standings, and posted his first win in the familiar #0 a few weeks ago with the O’Reilly Auto Parts Midwest All Star Series at Bloomington Speedway. Stevie Smith is in eighth in the standings with 2001 Hoosier Fall Classic winner Dean Jacobs in 9th and ready to debut a new car. PA Posse member Lance Dewease rounds out the top 10.
Expect to see 2010 Attica Raceway Park champion Byron Reed make the tow to the Hoosier state as well as three-time All Star champion and 2003, 2008 and 2009 Hoosier Fall Classic winner Dale Blaney. Other possible drivers to compete for the $7,000 top prize could be 2004 Hoosier Fall Classic winner Phil Gressman, Pittsboro, Indiana driver Randy “The Hurricane” Hannagan, Attica, Ohio pilot Brandon Martin, Millersburg, Ohio’s Rob Chaney, Dalton, Ohio’s Lee Jacobs and a host of others. Saturday’s visit to Lawrenceburg is the only stop in the Hoosier state for the traveling All Stars.
Joining the racing card will be the Lawrenceburg Chevrolet Non-Winged Sprints paying $3,000 to win. General admission tickets are $25 with kids 7-12 for $7 and children 6 and under free. All Star Circuit of Champions set to rock Fremont Sept. 17 & 18 |
Camargo, IL (9-10-10)By Brian Liskai – The stakes will be high when the O'Reilly Auto Parts All Star Circuit of Champion Sprint Cars invade the historic Fremont Speedway for the Jim Ford Classic, Friday, Sept. 17 and Saturday, Sept. 18. Not only will Knoxville Nationals champion and defending All Star champion Tim Shaffer be looking to wrap up the 2010 All Star title and the $50,000 that goes with it, but the teams will be competing for a purse of nearly $60,000 over the two nights of racing.
On Friday, the All Star program will pay the feature winner $4,000, while Saturday’s payout is $10,000 to the winner and $500 just to start the A-main. Also, Fremont Speedway Promoter Rich Farmer is increasing the B-main non-transfer payout to $100.
The weekend will be the 93rd and 94th appearance of the All Stars in the 59-year history of “The Track That Action Built.”
Shaffer has won three of the last four All Star events at Fremont Speedway, the other claimed by local driver Bryan Sebetto.
To encourage fans to make it a great racing weekend, the Sandusky County Fair Board is offering free camping in the north campground on Friday and Saturday. There is a camping fee for those fans who set up prior to Friday.
And, after the races Friday night the band Quickshine will crank out the rock-n-roll in the north campground in a free concert. The show is “open ended”…so fans can plan on staying long after the roar of the engines has subsided and instead listen to the roar of well played rock music.
On Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. race teams are invited to display their machines at the Baumann Auto Group on W. State Street.
Ticket prices for Friday’s All Star event are $20 general admission for adults; $18 for senior citizens; $15 for students; and free for children 10 and under. On Saturday, general admission is $25; $20 for seniors; $15 for students; and free for children 10 and under. Pit passes each day are $30.

The All Stars are one of the premier sprint car sanctioning bodies in the USA. Ohio Sprint Speedweek proves to be one of the most competitive weeks in racing during the 2010 All Star season. Tough battles happened in the 2010 Ohio Sprint Speedweek season, as it included nine straight nights of racing action in the buckeye state, it challenged the best of the best, but young David Gravel- DDR Motorsports was crowned the 2010 champion.
